More Information

Given our proximity to the Gulf Coast and the increasing frequency of tropical storms and hurricanes, it is imperative that we focus on:

-
Protecting Aging Infrastructure: Friendswood’s roads, drainage systems, and utilities require consistent maintenance and upgrades. Deferred maintenance leads to costlier repairs in the long run, so it is essential to invest in infrastructure resilience now.
-
Strengthening Financial Reserves: Many Gulf Coast communities rely on federal and state reimbursements after disasters. However, with potential changes in FEMA’s disaster response policies, Friendswood must proactively build a financial buffer to ensure rapid and effective responses to future hurricanes, floods, and other emergencies.
